🎹 Forms: Piano – A Casual Experiment That Turned Into a Beautiful Virtual Instrument

FORM PIANO

Sometimes the best things happen when you’re not even trying too hard.

🎹 Forms: Piano – A Free Piano Library from Benn Jordan’s Studio

You know I love sharing tools that feel personal, not just polished. Forms: Piano is exactly that — a virtual piano instrument that brings vibe, warmth, and a great story behind it.

A Fun Experiment Worth Sharing

This library wasn’t made by me, but I had to bring it to your attention. It’s the result of a fun experiment by Benn Jordan and a close friend of his. They recorded Benn’s Yamaha upright — a unique model that supports MIDI input — right in his home studio.

They set up some mics, built a sampler template, adjusted the piano to Benn’s preferred setup… and then sat back with some bourbon while the piano played itself.

What was meant to be a casual test session ended up sounding so good, they decided to share it for free.

What You’re Getting:

“We hope to release a proper library of this piano at some point, but this little test session came together too nicely not to share.” – Benn Jordan

Why I Recommend It

This isn’t some massive 40GB grand piano with endless velocity layers. It’s honest, simple, and full of personality. Perfect for lo-fi, ambient, indie scoring, or just sketching ideas when you want a piano that feels real.
