FREE Curve Resolve Plugin From WAVES

What is Curve Resolve and why it matters

Curve Resolve is a Waves plugin designed to solve frequency clashes and mix masking issues.

In simple terms, it:

• detects overlapping frequencies between tracks
• intelligently reduces problematic areas
• helps you achieve a cleaner, clearer, and less muddy mix

It’s especially useful when:

• kick and bass are fighting each other
• multiple elements sit in the same frequency range
• your mix sounds crowded even after EQ

Interface and workflow

The interface looks clean, modern, and very intuitive. As usual with Waves, the main advantage is speed.

At the heart of the plugin there’s the Learn function 👇

Using Curve Resolve on the master

1. Insert Curve Resolve on the master bus
2. Hit Learn
3. Play your track
4. The plugin analyzes all the elements in the mix

Once the scan is completed, you can:

• re‑learn if the mix changes
• use the main knob to decide how much frequency reduction you want

In the low‑frequency range, for example, you’ll clearly see where attenuation is happening.

If you exaggerate the control, the effect becomes very obvious, great for understanding exactly what the plugin is doing under the hood.

Advanced use: sidechain between tracks

This is where Curve Resolve really shines 👀

Example: drums vs bass

• Insert Curve Resolve on the bass track
• Enable the sidechain
• Select the drums as the sidechain source
• Press Learn while the drums are playing

Now the plugin:

• analyzes the drum frequencies
• automatically reduces the frequencies that clash with the bass

With the Advanced control, you can decide how aggressive the processing is.

Push it to the extreme and the bass almost disappears, useful to understand the range, then dial it back to something musical.

Extra controls and smart presets

Curve Resolve also includes:

• Filter and Tilt controls on the sidechain signal
• Smart presets optimized for:
  • drums
  • guitars
  • piano
  • and more

This makes it very fast to adapt the plugin to different mixing situations without overthinking the setup.
