Roland TB-303’s sound
JC303, a Bass Synthesizer Audio Plugin, stands as a dedicated effort to bring the renowned Roland TB-303’s sound to musicians and producers across diverse platforms and plugin formats. It is a JUCE port of Robin Schmidt’s Open303 DSP engine, aiming to make the powerful Open 303 accessible to a broader audience. Our primary objective is to offer a seamless experience, allowing musicians and producers to harness the incredible power of the Open303 DSP engine. Beyond just replicating the distinctive sound of the original TB-303..
We recognize that the TB-303’s unique character is not solely about its sound but is also defined by the entire gear, especially its legendary sequencer. About Open303, the project embodies the spirit of open-source development. Originating from Robin Schmidt’s call to the KVRAudio forum community, it evolved over a decade with enthusiasts delving into oscilloscopes, engaging in circuit reverse engineering analyses, and passionately debating the inner workings of the TB-303. The result is the finest TB-303 emulation ever created, available as open source. Open303 excels in achieving high-quality Virtual Analog (VA) filters in the challenging realm of DSP. Key Features of JC303: Pure Sound: Offers an authentic reproduction of the TB-303 sound. Cross-Platform Compatibility: Accessible on Windows, MacOS, and Linux platforms. Plugin Versatility: Compatible with VST3, LV2, and AU formats, ensuring seamless integration with various Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). Future-Ready: The project’s roadmap includes the development of a faithful step sequencer, capturing the essence of the original TB-303 experience. This ongoing commitment ensures that JC303 evolves alongside the needs and expectations of its users. In summary, JC303 is not just a plugin; it’s a dedication to preserving and enhancing the legacy of the TB-303, offering musicians a reliable and versatile tool for their creative endeavors.
