Distox & PreBOX: Distortion and Preamp VST/AU/AAX Plugin
Analog Obsession has announced a new update for its plugins Distox & PreBOX, available for 100% FREE download. They are presented as the Color Bundle, offering saturation, distortion, and preamp effects. Now, these plugins are available in AAX format, featuring a resizable graphical interface and full support for the Silicon operating system.
Distox – Analog Obsession
The Disto plugin is introduced as a multimode distortion effect, not emulating a complete analog hardware setup, but capturing the sonic character of various Tube (valve) and Op-Amp (Operational Amplifier) circuits. There are 7 different circuit models to choose from: 3 OpAmp & 4 Tube, each offering distinct harmonic coloration/saturation/distortion.
Disto’s adjustment features include ‘Input & Output’ level control (+/- 30 dB for each knob), HP & LP filter settings (HPF ranging from 20 Hz to 2 kHz, LPF ranging from 20 kHz to 10 kHz). It also includes a ‘MIX’ knob for Dry/Wet mixing, an ‘On/Off’ (bypass) button, and most importantly, the ‘MODE’ knob allows the selection of the desired distortion circuit.
PreBOX – Analog Obsession
The PreBOX plugin is presented as the ultimate preamplifier effect, completely updated from scratch. It captures the sonic character of various analog preamplifier circuits, offering a choice of 11 different models, such as Humptone, SS Nine, Tape Color, Rosenrot, New 81, F2Bam, Quad Core, A10M, 15A66, Fairy, and Vacuum76. The adjustment features of PreBOX include ‘Input & Output’ level control (+/- 24 dB for each knob), HP & LP filter settings, where HPF allows choosing between FLAT – 80 Hz – 300 Hz – 300+80 Hz, and LPF allows choosing between FLAT – 3 kHz. The ‘MODEL’ knob lets you select the desired preamplifier model for your signal.
