Get Lumo for Free – Rast Sound’s Loudness Enhancer (Limited Time Offer!)

Good news, Plugheads! Rast Sound is offering its Lumo loudness enhancer for FREE (normally €79) until February 24, 2025. This is a great chance to grab a high-quality loudness tool at no cost!

What is Lumo?

Lumo is a 64-bit only plugin available for macOS and Windows in AU, VST3, and AAX formats. It enhances loudness using a multi-stage psychoacoustic method, which, according to the developer, adds depth, warmth, and clarity while maintaining dynamics and avoiding limiting artifacts.

Unlike traditional limiters, Lumo boosts headroom while keeping your track’s dynamic range intact, making it ideal for both mixing and mastering.

Minimalist Yet Powerful Controls

Lumo features a simple yet effective interface with three main controls:

Effect: Adjusts the amount of loudness applied to the track.
Character: Tweaks the sound from transparent to harmonic-rich, warm, or sparkly.
Output: Sets the final output level.

Additional features include:

Oversampling (2x or 4x): Reduces aliasing and preserves high-end clarity, especially at higher settings.
Soft Clipping: Tames transients and adds warmth, great for high-energy tracks or mastering.

Does It Really Avoid Compression?

Rast Sound claims Lumo “avoids any compression” and instead operates via a multi-stage algorithm that intelligently reshapes dynamics. While that sounds impressive, some might be skeptical about how it achieves loudness enhancement without compression. That said, the results are promising, and it’s definitely worth adding to your plugin arsenal.
